Technical Director
At Globant, we are working to make the world a better place, one step at a time. We enhance business development and enterprise solutions to prepare them for a digital future. With a diverse and talented team present in more than 30 countries, we are strategic partners to leading global companies in their business process transformation.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to bridge the gap between traditional architectural workflows, real-time visualization, and enterprise data management. This role sits at the intersection of Architecture, Interactive Game Engines, and Data Engineering, driving the development of large-scale Digital Twin environments.
The ideal candidate brings a background in Architecture and Building Information Modeling (BIM) who has expanded their expertise into real-time rendering platforms and robust data infrastructure. You will lead technical direction, optimize cross-team workflows, manage massive component datasets, and scale spatial applications for complex projects.
Core Responsibilities
Architecture & Spatial Strategy: Translate architectural models and complex spatial data into real-time, interactive Digital Twin platforms. Serve as the bridge between traditional architecture teams and software/rendering workflows.
Real-Time Visualization: Lead the technical implementation of real-time 3D interactive environments using Unreal Engine or Unity (beyond static rendering). Establish optimization standards, lighting strategies, and performance benchmarks for live visualization.
Data Ingestion & Management: Oversee spatial data architecture, including data ingestion pipelines, storage structures, and query systems (Data Lakes, multi-source spatial databases). Ensure seamless streaming and integration of BIM metadata into runtime environments.
Large-Scale Data & System Optimization: Manage digital environments comprising millions of component files and multi-layer datasets. Drive decision-making around level-of-detail (LOD), file layering, memory management, and rendering optimization.
Stakeholder & Workflow Consulting: Act as a technical advisor to architectural, design, and engineering teams to propose pipeline enhancements, eliminate technical bottlenecks, and mandate best production practices.
Security & Compliance (Where Applicable): Implement project-specific security protocols, data-access controls, and secure data pipeline practices across connected Digital Twin ecosystems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Architecture & BIM: Deep technical understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, workflows, and data structures (e.g., Revit, IFC, Navisworks).
Real-Time Engines: Extensive hands-on experience developing and deploying interactive real-time applications using Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) or Unity.
Data Management & Architecture: Practical understanding of Data Lake concepts, enterprise data pipelines, ingestion protocols, schema design, and querying structured/unstructured datasets.
Large-Scale Performance Management: Proven track record managing massive 3D scenes or complex spatial environments, optimizing render passes, runtime performance, and dynamic data loading.
Communication & Technical Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to interface directly with architectural project teams, present technical concepts clearly, and guide technical teams.
Preferred / Advantageous Qualifications
Experience managing projects subject to strict data security, governance, or confidentiality protocols.
Familiarity with C++, C#, or Python for pipeline scripting, engine plugins, or custom automation tools.
Experience integrating IoT sensor feeds or real-time spatial telemetry into 3D Digital Twin representations.
