Senior Data Engineer (Python)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and ship production-grade data and AI systems for enterprise clients. You’ll lead technical workstreams, mentor junior engineers, and own the end-to-end delivery of data and AI features.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a data engineering role, including leading technical workstreams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving adoption of software engineering best practices within a team
Core Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL
- Ability to work in polyglot environments (Scala, Java) when required by client enterprise systems
- Strong experience building Agentic AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Business Intelligence systems, including prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, context construction, and output handling in production workflows
- Hands-on experience with modern frameworks such as Spark, LangChain, Databricks, Dask, Airflow, Dagster, and Kedro
AI Delivery & Judgment
- Ability to lead the implementation of AI features end to end, with sound judgment around model behavior, evaluation, reliability, guardrails, and the trade-offs between quality, latency, and cost
MLOps / LLMOps & Infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps, including CI/CD for data workflows and automated agent evaluation (LangSmith, Opik, Langfuse)
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform) across cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Security & Governance
- Experience implementing robust data security and governance controls, including managing PII/PHI, authentication, and role-based access control (RBAC)
Professional Skills
- Exceptional time management and the ability to own technical workstreams autonomously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the local office language
- Willingness to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
