We seek a Site Reliability Engineer who shares our passion for innovation and change. This role is critical to helping our business partners evolve and adapt to consumers' personalized expectations in this new technological era.
What will help you succeed:
In this role, you'll work within the Application Platform organization to ensure that our Cloud Network Infrastructure maintains the highest levels of reliability, performance, observability and agility. As a member of Enterprise Engineering you will have a key role in scaling, maturing and driving innovation across all segments of cloud networking, empowering our development teams to provision and consume cloud resources frictionlessly. In addition, you'll also:
●Design and build cloud-native network infrastructure that provides high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence.
●Innovate in an automation-forward and cloud-first environment, building tools and platforms that can scale our network infrastructure with the growth of our products.
●Actively participate in code and configuration reviews
●Craft solid and clearly explained designs, playbooks, and documentation, for consumption by teammates and the larger engineering organization
●Be proactive in performance & availability monitoring; provide remediations for systemic issues
●Actively participate in on-call duties
●Work as a team on escalations, resolving critical issues that impact our high SLA production systems
Who You Are
You're a Specialist Site Reliability Engineer who focuses on cloud networking automation. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. In addition:
●You have strong experience in resilient and distributed cloud network infrastructure,including VPN architecture, firewall configuration and network segmentation and routing in a cloud-native environment.
●You have strong experience in IAM best practices and architecture.
●You have expertise in observability platforms like Datadog, and have experience building out automated reliability and observability tooling.
●You are passionate for network configuration management and test-driven infrastructure automation using orchestration tools like Ansible and Terraform.
●You are driven towards self-service network infrastructure provisioning for frictionless developer experiences.
●You have experience with AWS and multi-region cloud networking
●You have experience working with a production environment with high uptime requirements and measurable SLAs
●You are familiar with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
●You have demonstrated the ability to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable
● You prefer working in a dynamic environment, comfortable challenging the status quo
●You believe that a team working well together is truly smarter than the single smartest person on that team
Extra Credit Skills:
●AWS Certified Advanced Networking or other AWS certifications
●Experienced in AWS Transit Gateway
●Experienced in AWS Cloud WAN
●Palo Alto firewall and networking expert
Office Networking (LAN/WLAN):
●Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Ubiquiti UniFi gear (switches, access points, controllers).
●Strong understanding of VLANs, subnetting, and Layer 2/3 network segmentation.
●Experience designing and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi deployments (SSID configuration, channel/power tuning, roaming optimization).
●Familiarity with PoE power budgeting, network monitoring, and performance tuning tools.
Remote Access & VPN:
●Experience managing Palo Alto GlobalProtect or IPsec VPNs in production environments.
●Knowledge of authentication integrations (SAML, LDAP, or RADIUS) for user access control.
●Familiarity with AWS networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, routing tables, NAT gateways, security groups).
●Exposure to deploying and maintaining Palo Alto virtual appliances (VM-Series) on EC2.
●Core Networking & Troubleshooting:
●Proficiency in routing protocols (static routing, OSPF, BGP basics) and firewall rule management.
●Strong diagnostic skills using packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump) and CLI-based troubleshooting.
●Experience using centralized logging and monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, or equivalent).
Security & Reliability Mindset:
●Understanding of network security principles and least-privilege access design.
●Ability to identify and remediate mis configurations or connectivity risks proactively.
●Commitment to documentation, repeatable processes, and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Ownership:
●Comfortable partnering with IT, SRE, and Platform teams to maintain connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments.
●Strong communication skills and ability to support global users across time zones.
●Self-starter who can take ownership of complex network issues and drive them to resolution.
