Senior Tech Manager Backend (Node.js)

We are seeking a Senior Tech Manager Backend (Node.js) who shares our passion for innovation and transformation. This role is critical in architecting and leading the development of high-performance backend systems that enable our business partners to evolve and meet the growing demand for personalized, scalable digital experiences.
You will get the chance to:
Lead and Architect: Define the technical vision and backend architecture for high-scale digital products, ensuring alignment with global engineering standards.
Master the Stack: Drive the development of robust services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS, ensuring clean code and high maintainability.
Design Data Ecosystems: Architect complex data models using both PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and lead the implementation of advanced GraphQL schemas.
Champion DevOps: Oversee the deployment and orchestration of services using Docker and Kubernetes within AWS cloud environments.
Ensure Engineering Excellence: Set the standard for testing strategies using Jest, conducting deep code reviews and technical mentoring to elevate team performance.
Drive Integration: Lead the design of agentic workflows and complex integrations between backend services, external APIs, and front-end interfaces.
Collaborate Globally: Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready technical roadmaps.
What will help you succeed:
- 10+ years of professional experience in backend engineering with a proven track record in Managerial or Technical Lead roles.
Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
Deep hands-on experience with NestJS, Express.js, and architectural patterns (Microservices, Event-Driven).
Strong mastery of both Relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
Proven experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS) and Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of API design using GraphQL and REST.
Expertise in automated testing frameworks, specifically Jest.
Experience in building real-time systems and handling high-concurrency backend environments.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React or Next.js to better facilitate full-stack alignment.
Knowledge of Saudi Arabian digital regulations and data sovereignty standards.

Advanced Communication: Fluency in English to engage with global and local stakeholders.
