SAP S/4HANA RE-FX Lease Accounting Architect / Functional Consultant
Location: New York, NY - Very limited travel required on an as-needed basis, approximately 10%.
Compensation: 120k - 180k / annually
We are seeking an experienced SAP Architect Contractor with deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Real Estate Management and lease accounting. This role will design, configure, test, and support SAP Real Estate Management solutions within an SAP S/4HANA environment, ensuring alignment with business requirements, enterprise architecture standards, and lease-accounting compliance needs.
The ideal consultant will have strong experience with SAP RE-FX, Contract Lease Management, General Ledger optimization, and the integration of SAP real estate and finance processes. This person will partner with business and technology stakeholders to define solution vision, requirements, interfaces, and delivery plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement SAP solutions, including SAP S/4HANA capabilities, to meet business requirements and enterprise architectural standards.
- Lead the functional design, configuration, testing, and production support of SAP Real Estate Management solutions using SAP RE-FX.
- Support lease-accounting processes and compliance requirements related to IFRS 16 and ASC 842.
- Define interaction requirements across SAP components, subsystems, integrations, and interfaces.
- Partner with Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solution designs.
- Provide strategic guidance on SAP development priorities, enhancements, defect resolution, and production fixes.
- Drive alignment between business processes, technology requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Support General Ledger optimization and integration between SAP RE-FX, SAP Finance, and related SAP modules.
- Contribute expertise in SAP Intelligent Real Estate and Contract Lease Management capabilities.
- Develop functional specifications, configuration documentation, test scenarios, and user-acceptance testing support.
- Identify process-improvement opportunities and recommend best-practice SAP solutions.
- Support successful end-to-end project delivery, including implementation, integration, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization.
- Strong experience as an SAP Architect, SAP Functional Lead, or SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant.
- Hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Real Estate Management (RE-FX).
- Strong knowledge of lease accounting processes and requirements under IFRS 16 and ASC 842.
- Experience with SAP RE-FX and Contract Lease Management (CLM).
- Experience with SAP Finance integration, including General Ledger and related financial processes.
- Experience with SAP General Ledger optimization.
- Ability to define and document functional requirements, solution designs, interfaces, and integration dependencies.
- Experience supporting SAP development, testing, defect resolution, and production support.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication, and consulting skills.}
- Experience with SAP Intelligent Real Estate.
- Experience with complex real estate, lease administration, or property-management business processes.
- Experience working in large enterprise SAP transformation or S/4HANA implementation programs.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and integration design.
- Previous consulting experience supporting finance, accounting, and real estate stakeholders.
This is a primarily remote New York-based role. Limited travel may be required depending on project and stakeholder needs, estimated at approximately 10%.
