We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst with PeopleSoft Finance experience to support the Deloitte project team.The Business Systems Analyst will serve as a bridge between finance stakeholders, Product Owners, business users, and technology teams, translating business needs into system requirements, product priorities, process improvements, and delivery plans.The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PeopleSoft Finance, business process analysis, requirements gathering, Agile delivery, testing, data analysis, and production support. This role will contribute to the maintenance, enhancement, integration, and continuous improvement of PeopleSoft Finance capabilities and related corporate finance processes.Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Product Owner, finance leaders, business stakeholders, and internal users to understand business needs and support product prioritization and decision-making.
- Analyze, maintain, enhance, and support PeopleSoft Finance capabilities and related finance systems.
- Research and gather business and system data to support project objectives, solution design, and business decisions.
- Analyze and document complex finance business processes, workflows, requirements, and system dependencies.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, usability, data quality, controls, and overall user experience.
- Translate business requirements into:
- Epics
- Features
- User stories
- Process flows
- Acceptance criteria
- Functional requirements
- Other delivery documentation
- Facilitate backlog refinement and support sprint planning in collaboration with Product Owners, developers, testers, data teams, finance stakeholders, and technology partners.
- Clarify requirements, business rules, and expected outcomes for development and configuration teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, process maps, user stories, workflows, decisions, and operating procedures.
- Assist with project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and status reporting.
- Develop test strategies, test scenarios, test data, and test scripts based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, defect triage, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Review test results and confirm that PeopleSoft Finance changes meet business requirements and expected operational outcomes.
- Support PeopleSoft Finance configuration and functional administration activities, including:
- Business process setup
- Workflow
- Reporting
- Interfaces
- Security-related coordination
- Other applicable system components
- Support routine production operations, including batch processing, interface monitoring, issue investigation, and incident resolution coordination.
- Analyze upstream and downstream impacts of configuration, process, data, and system changes.
- Provide post-implementation support, including configuration updates, production issue resolution, release readiness, regression testing, documentation, and end-user support.
- Develop communication, training, process, and educational materials to support adoption of system and process changes.
- Support formal change management activities and lead change efforts for smaller initiatives.
- Collaborate with project and change leaders on larger or more complex organizational changes.
- Validate that implemented features and system capabilities achieve their intended business outcomes and user needs.
- Understand technical strategy, system integrations, data flows, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Identify and communicate project risks, system dependencies, and potential impacts to finance processes.
- Conduct descriptive and diagnostic data analysis, including:
- Root-cause analysis
- Impact analysis
- Scenario analysis
- Operational reporting
- Performance reporting
- Create system prototypes, process models, data analyses, and scenario models to support solution design and stakeholder decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, findings, and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of business processes, requirements, configurations, test results, decisions, operating procedures, and support materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience working with PeopleSoft Finance in an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting the implementation, enhancement, maintenance, or integration of PeopleSoft Finance capabilities.
- Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and translating business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
- Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and other Agile delivery artifacts.
- Experience with SIT, UAT, regression testing, test planning, test execution, and defect management.
- Experience analyzing business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Strong understanding of finance business processes and systems.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Finance, Product, Technology, Development, QA, Data, and Business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Finance configuration and functional administration.
- Experience with PeopleSoft workflows, reporting, interfaces, and security coordination.
- Experience supporting production operations and incident management.
- Experience with finance system integrations and data flows.
- Experience with change management and end-user adoption initiatives.
- Experience performing data analysis using reporting or analytical tools.
- Experience developing prototypes, process models, and scenario analyses.
- Experience working with Product Owners and managing or refining product backlogs.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale transformation or technology modernization initiatives.
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
