About the role

We are seeking a qualified Oracle Administrator. This role is responsible for performing the essential functions listed below and requires the skills and experience described.

 

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration or a related database administration role.
  • Strong experience administering and maintaining Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Oracle installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with Oracle backup and recovery processes.
  • Knowledge of database security, access controls, and user/role management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting production database environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle database software and related products.
  • Administer and maintain Oracle database environments to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Perform SQL query tuning, database optimization, and resource management.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls to protect sensitive and confidential information.
  • Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls.
  • Perform regular database backups, recovery operations, and restoration procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and resource utilization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, connectivity, configuration, and availability issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to developers, users, and other technical teams.
  • Assist with database upgrades, migrations, patches, and other maintenance activities.
  • Maintain database documentation, configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Follow established security, compliance, and operational procedures.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, or RMAN.
  • Experience with database migration and upgrade projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle environments.
  • Experience with database monitoring and performance management tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security and compliance requirements.
  • Oracle certifications are a plus.

 

Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $152,000 per year depending on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
