AEP Data Engineer

We are actively seeking a qualified and experienced AEP Data Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data architecture, data mod eling, and platform ingestion and integration, with proven experience within the Adobe Experience Platform ecosystem, where Real-Time Customer Data Platform represents the core focus of their work.

 

Key Responsibilities and Required Skills

 

This role requires a professional capable of designing and implementing scalable data architectures that ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of information throughout the entire data lifecycle, from data collection to activation. Through hands-on technical execution and close collaboration with development, marketing, and business teams, the CDP Developer will act as the project’s technical reference, translating functional requirements into high-performance ingestion, integration, and activation solutions.

The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in all of the following core areas:

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Data architecture & schema design
    • Design and implement XDM schemas aligned with client business requirements and AEP best practices.
    • Define identity namespaces, primary and secondary identifiers, and configure the AEP Identity Graph.
    • Model data relationships to support real-time profile unification across web, mobile and offline sources.
    • Ensure all schemas are documented, versioned and built for long-term scalability.

 

  • Data Ingestion & Pipeline Development
    • Implement and maintain data ingestion pipelines via batch (file-based - SFTP), streaming (HTTP API, Kafka), and SDK methods.
    • Configure and manage AEP source connectors (CRM, data warehouse, offline channels, Meta, Google DV360, etc).
    • Develop and maintain Edge Network configurations using Adobe Data Collection.
    • Integrate third-party SDKs and APIs.

 

  • Platform Configuration
    • Configure datasets, datastreams and merge policies in AEP.
    • Support the Real-Time CDP with technical setup for audience creation and destination activation.
    • Collaborate with the CDP Specialist to ensure technical feasibility of audience and segmentation logic.
    • Monitor data flows, resolve ingestion errors and maintain data quality standards.

 

  • Integration & Collaboration
    • Work closely with client IT and development teams to align on dataLayer specifications and deployment.
    • Provide technical support to AJO journey implementations and CJA connection configurations.

 

MarTech Ecosystem Knowledge

  • Familiarity with the full MarTech ecosystem and how CDP, Marketing Automation, CRM, and activation channels interrelate.  
  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS S3) and their integration with Adobe Experience Platform.
  • Knowledge of consent management platforms (CMPs) and privacy regulations.   
  • Exposure to mobile measurement and attribution tools (Adjust, AppsFlyer, or similar).  
  • Experience with web and mobile app analytics implementations in enterprise environments.  
  • Experience working with agile delivery models or Scrum-based frameworks.

 

Communication and Soft Skills

  • High level of proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail, capable of diagnosing complex data quality issues.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented: identifies risks in advance and proposes alternatives before they become blockers.
  • Committed to high-quality documentation and effective knowledge transfer within the team.

 

Desirable Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in digital analytics implementation, data engineering, or MarTech-related roles, with demonstrable exposure to Adobe Experience Platform and particularly to Real-Time CDP.  
  • Knowledge of complementary tools such as Adobe Analytics or cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery) will be a plus.
